How to Use the Matcha Sifting Can (抹茶上合の使用法)

When measuring tea, use lid A.

When preparing sweets, use both A and B lids.

Container C holds approximately 3.4g of matcha, which is the standard amount for koicha (thick matcha)

Fill about 1/3 of the inner mesh with matcha for best results.

You can sift cleanly without clumping.

Approximate matcha amounts:

Large tin (次): ~20g

Small tin (小): ~15g

Use the spatula by gently moving it side to side.
Matcha Sifter with Brush (ブラシ付抹茶篩)

Same amount: fill about 1/3 of the mesh with matcha.

Sifts matcha cleanly.

Static electricity may occur, so gently rotate the brush.

Always turn the lid to close it securely after use.

Be careful as the brush bristles may break over time.
Bowl-Type Matcha Sifter (お椀型抹茶篩)

You can use other spatulas or small spoons, but a dedicated bamboo spatula is recommended.

Use the bamboo spatula vertically and apply just enough pressure to hear the mesh slightly vibrate while sifting.

This method helps aerate the matcha, enhancing the flavor and making it easier to whisk into a smooth, creamy tea.
Additional Notes:

Only fill the sifter to half the height of the mesh or less.

If tea clumps at the bottom, gently tap it 2–3 times with a bamboo spatula.

If the spatula tip wears down, you can reshape it with fine sandpaper.

Shipping & Returns
