Tsubame Kobo Free Cup - Tumbler in Platinum Blue with faceted black clay design, 220ml capacity, handcrafted in Japan.
Tsubame Kobo Free Cup Platinum Blue Sale price$128.00 AUD

This is a handcrafted free cup made with care by Tsubame Kobo.

Featuring the calm texture of black clay, a comfortable feel in the hand, the unique glaze resembling overlapping ice crystals, and a dynamic design that transitions from a hexagon to a heptagon—this cup embodies Tsubame Kobo’s three core commitments.

Its versatile size makes it perfect for any drink or use. We hope you’ll enjoy it as a part of your everyday life.

[Commitment to Black Clay]
Tsubame Kobo uses a carefully selected black clay for all its products.
While black clay from Mino is difficult to work with, it offers a unique texture and warmth that other clays cannot replicate.
When you receive your cup, we encourage you to feel the intentionally unglazed parts and appreciate the raw texture of Mino’s black clay—crafted with pride by skilled artisans. It pairs beautifully with sake.

[Commitment to Glaze]
Platinum Blue features a one-of-a-kind brilliance, reminiscent of polished metal.
Because the finish can change depending on temperature and humidity, every Tsubame Kobo piece is crafted by hand rather than by machine, with careful attention paid to the condition of the glaze during production.
The delicate and subtle shifts in color ensure that each cup is truly unique—a one-of-a-kind piece that belongs only to you.

[A Unique Design]
The transformation from a hexagonal base (resembling tortoiseshell) to a heptagonal rim creates a cup that reflects light in complex, shifting ways when filled—producing a one-of-a-kind sparkle with every sip.
The swallow stamp engraved in the unglazed area symbolizes a wish: that, like the swallows returning year after year, you’ll keep coming back to use this cup again and again.

“Not just for special occasions—create special moments in your everyday life.”
That is the sentiment behind Tsubame Kobo’s vessels. We hope they bring beauty to your daily routine.

Beautifully packaged in a box, this piece makes a wonderful gift.
We confidently recommend it as a present for someone special—or as a well-deserved treat for yourself.

*Due to manufacturing reasons, there may be uneven glaze or streak-like patterns.

These natural variations, especially in handmade items, highlight the craftsmanship and uniqueness of each piece and are not considered defects.

Handling & Care

Ceramics are durable but should be handled with care to ensure longevity and safety:

  • Avoid exposing ceramics to sudden temperature changes (e.g., placing a hot item directly into cold water).
  • Do not use damaged or cracked ceramics, as they may break unexpectedly.
  • Follow specific care instructions provided with each product (e.g., dishwasher-safe or hand-wash recommended).

Breakage & Safety
