Koichi Yasunaga Moon Crown Cat Teapot
Created by Japanese ceramic artist Koichi Yasunaga (安永康一), the Moon Crown Cat Teapot brings his playful world of character ceramics to the tea table.
With its plump, rounded body, cheerful expression and tiny paws, the teapot takes the form of an irresistibly charming cat. Perched between its ears is an ornate crown topped with a golden crescent moon, giving the piece its distinctive character. Delicate touches of pink, turquoise, red and gold are individually applied, bringing warmth and personality to the softly textured ceramic surface.
The curved handle forms the cat’s tail-like silhouette, while the elongated spout integrates naturally into the sculptural form. From the expressive whiskers to the small three-dimensional details, there is something to discover from every angle.
Both a functional teapot and a collectible ceramic artwork, the Moon Crown Cat Teapot captures Yasunaga’s wonderfully imaginative approach to Japanese pottery — whimsical, joyful and full of personality.

Each piece is individually handmade and decorated. Slight variations in shape, colour, glaze and painted details are natural and make every piece unique.
At Seifuu Creations, we take pride in offering high-quality ceramic products, including both handcrafted and machine-made pieces. While we strive for consistency, slight variations in color, size, weight, texture, and glaze may occur due to the nature of ceramic production. These natural variations, especially in handmade items, highlight the craftsmanship and uniqueness of each piece and are not considered defects.
Handling & Care
Ceramics are durable but should be handled with care to ensure longevity and safety:
- Avoid exposing ceramics to sudden temperature changes (e.g., placing a hot item directly into cold water).
- Do not use damaged or cracked ceramics, as they may break unexpectedly.
- Follow specific care instructions provided with each product (e.g., dishwasher-safe or hand-wash recommended).
Breakage & Safety
Seifuu Creations is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses resulting from improper handling, misuse, or accidental breakage of ceramic products. Please keep ceramic items out of reach of children unless specified as safe for use by young users.
